Breast surgery
Gynaecomastia
Chest masculinisation
Enlarged breast volume in men creates a contour at odds with the male body image. With appropriate planning, it is corrected in an outpatient procedure.
What it involves
The first step is to determine the cause. Gynaecomastia may be due to excess fatty tissue or to the presence of true breast gland, and the approach changes accordingly:
- Excess fat: corrected with liposuction.
- True gland: requires an incision to remove the excess tissue.
In many cases both procedures are combined to optimise the result.
Diagnosis
Diagnosis relies on breast ultrasound and the patient’s clinical history. With that information, the appropriate technique for each case is defined during the consultation.
Where it is performed
Consultations are available at any of the clinics, by scheduled appointment, and by video call.
