Abdominal dermolipectomy
When abdominal skin loses elasticity after pregnancy or significant weight loss, exercise is not enough to restore it. Abdominoplasty removes that excess skin and fat and restores firmness to the abdominal wall.
Abdominoplasty removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen and, when the muscle wall is stretched, repairs it during the same operation. It requires a stable weight.
The scar is placed in the suprapubic area, covered by underwear or swimwear. When the excess tissue is moderate, a mini-abdominoplasty may be indicated, with a considerably shorter scar.
Abdominoplasty is often accompanied by liposculpture to shape nearby areas such as the back, thighs, outer hips, pubis and flanks, for a comprehensive contour result.
A 24-hour hospital stay is required. Relative rest is indicated for 7 days, and physical activity is resumed after 45 days.
