Platelet-rich plasma
Biostimulation
Biostimulation with the patient's own blood. With no external substances or filler material, the stimulus comes from the patient's own growth factors.
What it is
It is a biostimulation procedure that uses the patient’s own plasma with a high concentration of platelets. Because nothing foreign to the body is introduced, it is a biocompatible treatment.
What it is used for
It improves overall skin quality: it stimulates cell regeneration, increases radiance, softens fine lines and mild laxity, reduces superficial scars, revitalises sun-damaged areas and treats dark circles. In some cases it also helps strengthen the scalp and reduce hair loss.
How it is applied
A small amount of blood is drawn and centrifuged to separate the platelets and plasma from the other components. The concentrate is applied through superficial micro-injections in the area to be treated.
It is an outpatient procedure, performed in the consulting room and well tolerated. In some cases topical anaesthesia is used for greater comfort.
What to expect
Results are progressive: greater firmness, more radiant skin, better texture, fewer fine lines and deep hydration. The effect continues during the weeks after the session, owing to the sustained stimulation of collagen and growth factors.
Before the session
- Avoid intense sun exposure in the preceding days.
- Arrive with clean skin and no make-up.
- Keep well hydrated.
After the session
- Mild redness or small marks from the micro-injections may appear; they disappear shortly.
- Avoid direct sun exposure and use sunscreen daily.
- Do not apply make-up on the same day.
- Avoid intense physical activity for 24 hours.
- Maintain hydration to optimise results.
