Buttocks
Gluteal fat transfer
Lipofilling
Buttock augmentation with the patient's own fat has become the most widely used technique for shaping this area. The fat is obtained by liposculpture from other areas of the body and transferred to the buttocks.
What it involves
Fat is harvested from donor areas by liposculpture and, after processing, transferred to the buttocks to improve their volume and projection in balance with the rest of the contour. In this way, the donor area and the buttocks are shaped in a single operation.
Differences from implants
- Tailored shaping. The required amount can be placed exactly where it is needed, instead of a fixed, predetermined volume.
- No foreign material. Because the patient’s own tissue is used, the risks specific to an implant, such as rejection or capsule formation, are avoided.
- Natural result, both to the eye and to the touch.
The choice between an implant and the patient’s own fat depends on anatomy, the amount of fatty tissue available and the desired result, and is defined during the consultation.
